Various Maps

I strongly recommend looking back at old work. It is amazing how much is forgotten so it is always comforting finding an old gem and remembering an old project. It also lets you know where you have been and where you are going.

The following are a collection of some earlier work that feels best housed together. There were plenty of other pieces to choose from, but I chose these specifically. Each one I would do differently now, but that is a good thing – one evolves.

The first collection are a series of maps. I was trying to stylize one place in four different historic ways.

The next was an atlas I put together showing the current extents of the British Crown.

The next highlights a multi-scaled map showing population change using graduated symbols. It tried to show how hard it is dealing with overlapping symbols and how to get inspiration from watercolour is one potential way to approach it.

The last points to a Hydro Overlay.
