Cartography.

I had the pleasure to work with Ken Field and John Nelson on a book covering pretty much everything in cartography. I did somewhere around 60 maps/illustrations.

Kenneth Field

You can find Ken all over the interweb dropping cartographic wisdom. He wrote the book and did many of the illustrations.

John Nelson

John is a super prolific, tutorial giving, story teller you can find all over the web too. He did a boatload of the illustrations.

The Project

This book took a lot of work. I primarily helped design a collection of maps and illustrations. Each page was treated like a poster – meaning design the best looking page you could. That was such a freeing challenge.

I was always amazed with Ken and John’s maps. It felt like the person who was meant to design each page got that page. Below are two of my favourites that I designed.
